• TINY SPACES ::: Our landscape rooms are tiny spaces offering big unspoiled views. Each room offers modern accommodations in a simple floor layout. Don't over pack, you won't need much! If a bigger floor space is your preference, check our beautiful Casona rooms located in the main building of the hotel.

• PACKING TIPS ::: Part of the beauty of El Yucayeque is how it blends in with the rugged natural landscape. There are no paved roads to the rooms and no excess of artificial light. Packing light is key to maximizing the use of small spaces so that it translates into a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We recommend packing comfortable shoes with grip, a light jacket during the tropical winter months and adopting a minimalist approach for the reminder of your stay, as you won't need much else.

• THERMAL COMFORT ::: Lejos' El Yucayeque is located almost 500 ft above sea level on the rolling hills of Vieques. Due to the area's high elevation, our  hotel benefits from cool breezes most of the year, even during the warm summer months. In addition to the  passive solar techniques incorporated into the design, each unit features built-in insulation, reflective roof coatings and large louvre windows known as an efficient and sustainable ventilation solution.  Though no air conditioning is provided, all rooms are equipped with a modern ceiling fan and maintain a comfortable indoor temperature throughout the day and night. During the months of December through April you might even need a light jacket!

• HIGH DRAW ITEMS & EQUIPMENT ::: Lejos is committed to sustainability, responsible tourism and its obligation to our community. We strive to reduce our ecological and carbon footprint resulting from the hotel operations. As part of this effort we have invested in a solar energy system to help us use cleaner and more efficient energy sources. This system is susceptible to high draw items such as hair dryers, coffee machines and stove tops. These type of small appliances can affect the performance of our solar energy system and therefore are not provided or allowed in the rooms.

• CONNECTIVITY :::  Lejos promotes an unplugged experience, inviting our guests to immerse themselves in the beautiful surroundings, connect with nature and enjoy an environment with nothing to stand between you and your rest and relaxation . To that end, WiFi is not available in our Yucayeque rooms. However, if duty calls and you need to log on, we offer complimentary WiFi in public areas including our lounge bar and pool.

• PARKING ::: Parking is located outside the hotel grounds, just a stroll away from the rooms. Access to El Yucayeque is through a gravel walking path connecting the container rooms to the main Casona building and parking area. When packing, keep in mind that the movement of spinning or rolling luggage may be restricted on unpaved surfaces.
